I cant believe the Secret Service would make such a decision in todays environment. Made me immediately think of the situation in Pakistan where the government ordered relaxed security for Bhutto who was then assasinated. Is our government thinking in the same way?

What's worse? An empty-looking meeting hall or a shot Obama? Hmm?

The same thing happened at the speech in Virginia Beach, where we had 18,000 people. I was pretty surprised when they stopped screening and opened all the doors, and even if it's a "friendly" crowd, it only takes one to cause a disaster.

Hmmm, I'm not normally a conspiracy theorist, but this one does smack of Bush-esk neo-McCarthy-ism. Secret Service lapses would be in alignment w/the Administration rough-shodd bum-rush over of the rights & responsibilities outlined in the US Constitution. What's a concerned citizen to do?

You people are idiots! We undoubtedly will learn in the coming days that some senior Obama campaign official threw a fit because Mr. Obama would take the stage to a half empty arena and insisted that the detectors be pushed aside. Team Obama wants full arenas for photo/video shots in order to sustain his momentum. This was not a Bhutto redux.

We have known for six years that PIAPS will do what ever it takes to get back in power. Maybe they should get Obama a vest and a food taster, too.

jfk wasn't popular until he was shot by a rabid leftist. he only won in 1960 by a hair and it's been demonstrated that massive election fraud in chicago put him over the line. rfk was probably more popular again because of his brother's death. but how long would he had stayed that way after it came out that he ordered illegal wiretaps and surveillance on MLK?

I went to Obama's rally in St. Louis. We were just allowed into the arena. Our bags weren't checked nor were metal detectors used. There were over 20,000 at that rally.
