Abreu might get a #3 pitcher, which, of course is an improvement on the #5s and minor leaguers now in uniform. And the Phils would have to send some money along with him too.

It is obvious by now that the Phils can't develop major league pitchers. Just looking at the current crop, for example didn't we hear dozens of time that Floyd and Hamels were "can't miss" Aces. Hamels is already a huge question mark, and if Floyd is ever going to succeed, it won't be in a Phillies uni.

It was a real pleasure to watch such a masterful pitching performance last night. The team appeared to be inspired as they played with a team spirit too often lacking this season.

The one player the Phillies need to get rid of the most and in a hurry is Pat Burrell. Burrell has come up to bat with a man in scoring position 106 times so far this year and has only driven in 26 runs. That means when he comes up to bat with a man in scoring position, Burrell likelyhood of driving in that run is 24%.

Everyone like to get on Bobby Abreu for his bad defense, and rightfully so, but at least Abreu doesn't hurt you at the plate. Abreu is hitting .348 with men in scoring position and has 42 rbi's in 89 at bats. So 47% of the time Abreu is going to bring that run in.

I would trade both Abreu and Burrell, but I want something back for Abreu, I would eat Burrell contrant in a minute. I can have Shane Victorino hit .200 with men in scoring position and just pay him $330K.
