    • State Farm's rates could rise 70% for...
Comments
If State Farm refuses to issue new hurricane policies or renew present ones without their ridiculous request for higher premiums, the State should not allow them to write auto or life insurance policies either. You will see how quickly those State Farm crooks come around !!

The neglect of State Farm to followup on claims
has only added to the long list of homeowners
that were paid out for false or misleading claims
for damages. Many claimed damages in areas that
were not in the path of major storms. They have
only theirselves and poor protocol to blame. CB

I think its ridiculous that State Farm is pushing to raise the insurance rates. When is someone going to give the consumer a break. We are already feeling the pains at the gas pumps, food, loss of jobs, travel costs and everything else that is happening to our economy. It just seems that when a major company is feeling the pinch, they look to the consumer for relief and they don't seem to care if they can afford it or not.

This can't be! We had Republican Insurance Reform! Insurance and the Medical Industry, they want all our money, from birth to the grave. I guess they will have to fight it out to see who gets the last penny, and who gets to pry the gold teeth from our dead bodies.

I wish someone could explain to me what makes south Florida in particular more vulnerable to hurricanes than say Vero Beach or Naples or Daytona. How come hurricanes automatically want to come here? Maybe our beaches are nicer? Or maybe because the insurance companies decided they can rip off millions at a time instead of a few thousands in the smaller cities. And if they increased everyone in the state, the conservative areas in north florida and the panhandle would be so upset they'd never get a rate hike through. As in gas prices, the insurance companies always want to gouge South Florida and our republican friends in Tallahassee always let them get away with it.
