Jack Thompson here. Note the following letter to the editor in today's Herald:

SLAP ON WRIST

Re the July 31 story Defense attorney sidesteps charges, suspension: The FLorida Bar and the Broward County prosecutors are an embarrassment to our judicial process. The FLorida Bar ruled that attorney Hilliard Moldolf's sending $100 to a prisoner who was to testify against his client was merely "minor misconduct." This is another example of the FLorida Bar's long-standing policy of protecting attorneys and condoning their unethical activities. If this were just another citizen, Moldof would have been arrested and prosecuted. Instead, the FLorida Bar duped the Miami-Dade State Attorney's office into thinking that it would take remedial action against Moldof. The legal and judicial systems in Florida continue to be an embarrassment. --CLIFFORD KOLBER, Miami

It is not true the Bar does not go after bad attorneys.

Jack did not disclose he is a defendant in a Florida Bar trial against him which will begin on September 4.

Will probably lead to his own disbarment for massive ethical misconduct.

Maybe Jack will disclose more about that complaint to your readers, accusing him of lying to and about judges, as well as conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice.

Maybe your paper will write about it someday.

Maybe Jack is just upset that Moldof is getting off lightly and he will likely be disbarred.

Maybe Jack should tell us whether he disclosed to the Sortal family before he got hired he may not be around to defend them in two months. Do you think that Jack disclosed to them that the Bar just asked him to go for a psychological assessment and evaluation and accept a 91 day suspension for his own violations of Bar rules? I wonder.

There was an atty in Dade Co. who stalked and injured a woman--bar looked the other way...oh yes, and bribery and threats to the family, too

Not true that all attorneys get a free ride on stalking either.

Did Jack Thompson tell anyone that there is a current restraining order against him which he is accused of violating and the matter is pending in circuit court in Broward? And that the Bar made Thompson go for a psychological evaluation himself? That's what he says.

What is going on here? Sitting judges and prosecutors writing letters to the FLorida Bar on behalf of the defense attorney in this case? Could the Herald please publish these so we could see them?

Why doesn't the Herald investigate John Thompson? Maybe they'll find out what he really is: a busy-body religious nutjob with a law license. Apparently his client list is so short that he has time to sit around making complaints to the FCC, JQC, and any other government whistle-blowing hotline that he can punch up on the internet.

Great. Nice to see that they take perjury seriously.
