Rob Shumer - - No the Gun Ban of 1994 would not have prohibited either of the guns the murder used from be sold or owned. The reason the Gun Ban of 1994 was not renewed is because it did nothing to stop crime. Bill Clinton and Dems in Congress said this when it was signed into law but they did it any way as a feel good reaction to the New York shooting by Colin Ferguson.... All it was was pay back to the anti gun loby for endorcing Clinton.

Tom Hammond's mother must not have taught him the old saying - If you cant say anything nice . . . How typical of a liberal - if you cant come up with anything pertinent to say then just call names. This will get you far in the liberal "community" but the rest of us couldnt care less!

Rob Shumer - Explain why this gun was banned under Clinton's draconian AWB law. And please, elaborate on how much safer it made this country - statistics would be good.

Tom Hammond... How much do you think my grand children and great grand children are going to have to pay for your health care, prescription drugs, Gang Transit (ah I mean light Rail), and all the other social programs the democrats have put in place? I didn't even mention Government indoctrination (Education) and day care. As most liberals believe, it is o.k. if they are spending the money.

To the person who commented to Tom Hammond (7:33am): the problem is with your statement is that Republicans generally have no problem with spending. They only have problems with taxing. So they're forced to borrow money and create one of the largest defiicts in our nation's history (adjusting for inflation) Oh and if Larry's roommate choose to respond-here's a website that shows that our national debt compared to GDP is one of the HIGHEST in history: http://zfacts.com/p/318.html So we've had republicans running the state and the nation and we've had higher deficits (remember Tom Hammon's comment about borrow, borrow, borrow, spend, spend, spend? How can you dispute this??)

7:43.. 7:33 here... You neglect the fact that we are in a war against Islamic Terrorists. You do have more costs spending a war AND supporting all the socialist programs that exist. Maybe we should drop a few of those. Once again, you don't mind spending my money on programs you like.

7:33, 7:43 here (why don't we all just create handles like the Strib?). Let's drop the war! ( : I'd rather see efforts go after Bin Laden et al and not Iraqi's. I agree that we SHOULD be at a war against islamic terrorists that caused 9/11 but we're not. So we're in a war that the majority of Americans (and a GRAND majority of around the world) think we shouldn't be in.

"I Report, You Decide"? Okay Bill O'Reily. You reported that its mostly men that are writing in and opposing abortion. Well Ive decided - maybe, just maybe, these are real men who are standing up to protect and defend life, like men are supposed to, instead of cutting it down before it even has a chance.

Why do you blame mothers for people's lack of manners (i.e. name calling)? There is a lot of name calling in letters from the Stassens and Jason Lewis, to name a couple. Name calling is done by every spectrum of political leanings - and it's NOT mothers' fault.
